The word “ambition” is a noun however there is a feeling of movement behind its definition.  Ambition is the desire to achieve something that requires real determination and work without being stifled by the work required. Many people would look at that definition and say to themselves, “I desire to achieve _____”  and then totally ignore the “something that requires real determination” part.  At that point, it’s just a desire with zero ambition driving it.  It’s a flat goal, one dimensional. There is no short cut to achievement, only the long cut.  The long cut will[...]

I had a completely different post to put up this week but I decided to change it up. In celebration of the first workday of 2016, sweet 16, I had to share a dose of reality. I am no different then all of you and need just as much encouragement and motivation just like the next gal. But one thing I believe makes me different is that I seek encouragement. I wasn’t always that way.     I use to think that I was motivated enough for me and that I was given a certain amount of motivation and ability and that was all I was suppose to have. Booooring!     It sounds [...]

The best way to coach yourself to success is to simply fill your calendar.   A wise network marketer once told me to never have just completed the last appointment on your calendar.  There should always be at least one coming up in the future. It's best to work backwards.  Block out time slots on your calendar that you are available to work your business ahead of time and then set your goals to fill each slot. Make your list, know what you will say and then hit the phones. At the start of the month, those first time-slots might be used to make those initial calls to invite others.[...]

When you clearly communicate your desire to succeed by both your words and your actions, people will begin to take notice.  At first this is difficult but the best you can do is practice.  Practice leads to more clarity and clarity helps you live your desires through actions. The stronger your own posture when you contact and invite people to share with them what you are doing, the more their own curiosity will move them to take a look. Don't be afraid to say  - hey, I'm excited about something and I want to show you why I'm excited.  The exact verbiage may change from person to [...]

So what's the story behind the story? Both a positive and a negative for the network marketing profession is the tendency many companies have of showcasing fast starters and great success stories. It's important that we see those who have "made it" to reinforce that we can do it, too. The challenge comes when we see those fast starters and start to ask - what is wrong with me? Always remember that there is a story behind the story. Those "over night successes" usually built it somewhere else before, and climbed the same long, slow hill that everyone does on the way up. Most often, [...]
