Attracting Attention
“No matter how great your product or service is, no one will hear about it if you don’t attract attention.” –Richard Branson
What’s interesting about network marketing is that we teach on a different way to “attract attention” or market your business. In school we were taught just one way to market a business. As in everything in life, there are many different ways to accomplish a goal and not one way is the most efficient way for every situation.
The next question is, “how do WE attract attention to our company?”
First, it’s important to know that the answer to this question was based off of years of trial and error. Our marketing plan was not put into practice without hundreds of thousands of “looks” and then hundreds of thousands of adjustments. Sometimes it can be difficult for someone who has never been in the network marketing industry to coming into a company and just trust the system.
It’s hard when you have traditional marketing experience to see it any other way!! It’s hard to trust history when you weren’t part of history in the making.
Now, back to the question of how we attract attention to our company? First of all, we consider ourselves no different than the budding entrepreneur or the serial entrepreneur looking for business partners. We are not looking for “sales”! Sales are great. They are a result of doing business, any business, and that is all sales are! We attract attention to our business by being a professional businessperson and treating our friends, family and prospect with respect.
At the end of the day, we have chosen to represent our company as our families’ source for trustworthy products and/or services that we feel 100% comfortable recommending to our contacts. Most importantly, our friends are still our friends because of that. This is why we don’t have parties, we don’t post on Facebook, we don’t create fliers, we don’t wrap our cars, and we don’t buy billboads.
We invest in ourselves and in our education so that we grow into better, confident business owners who care about our customers, clients, business partners and team members.
That is how we attract attention.
There is definitely a method to achieving this and it will not be accomplished without taking actionable steps to sharing our company with others but at the end of the day, a presentation is worthless if you are not truly interested in servicing the person across the table. When I say, “servicing” I mean as simple as being a trust worthy friend or a likeable business partner. People want to be around people who are confident in the connection they have with others. How do you accomplish this??
BECOME THAT PERSON
Invest in personal development.
Learn and practice skills of successful leaders and business owners.
Be humble enough to know that you never have all the answers.
Get on a mission to learn how to better serve others.
Above all, be confident that the path you have chosen will train you to be that leader you’ve always wanted to be.
I have to laugh a little bit because most people are scared to join our type of business because they don’t have the confidence to grow a business from the ground up. NOBODY DOES! I was scared to death to start my business! I didn’t even know that this type of personal development existed. I thought it was all "self help" and that sounded degrading to me. I didn’t know that I could get on a path to become a leader. What!?! Me!?! The girl who moved through life as just plain ole' average in everything I did!?! I made average grades, had an average amount of friends, got an average job, did what I was told was normal, was average in sports, had average writing skills, just plain average!
Now I own a business that I'm very confident in, I've focused my athletic talents and I've began to hone in on what really makes ME happy, not just being average so I can blend in with everyone! That's not worth it! Learn how to attract attention that best suits you.
With gratitude,
Allison
